MISSION PREP 01

Tamara's head snapped up as an automated target came up from out of the sand to hover a few feet infront of her. Her eyes darted from the scrap metal infront of her, to her right where two others had appeared immediately after the first. The lazers beaming from all three honed in on Tamara as their target and making a split decision ducked and rolled a few feet to her left. Standing to one knee she aimed and shot her FAMAS center on the target hovering infront of her before she sprinted to the BTR where she had initially spotted the commander taking cover.

Kaiross stood up and fired at the two stationary targets from his crouching position, providing Tamara with some cover. Once she arrived at the BTR he said to her.

"Ok, not too bad...but were not out of this yet!"

He continues to fire at the target behind the barrels, and ducks to avoid the incoming balls of light.

"I can't get an angle of the target by the sheet metal! Can you see it?"

Tamara jerked her head back slightly to sweep her bangs from her face and proceeded to reload her rifle as she peeked around the BTR at the target. Slightly moving around the corner of the destroyed carrier she took aim and fired three round bursts from her crouching position around the last moving target.

Kaiross takes this opportunity to pop up from behind his cover and fire two well placed shots. Both go through the targets head. [A little bit of power play, acceptable from here to there.]

As the target drops he straightens from his fighting position and looks towards Tamara. "It's not over yet, they only get harder from here." He looked up towards the observation room and wondered if Bishop would join them.

"The next phase wont trigger until we begin to advance, so we have some time? Is this your first live-fire exercise?"

Tamara swung back around behind the BTR to avoid the last shots emitted from the target before the captain placed two bullets into its metal frame.
Bright lights filled the training room as Tamara took in the rest of her surroundings and brushed the sand off her clothes glancing up at the captain as he spoke.

"I believe this would be my first exercise."

She scooted back against the BTR and relaxed for a moment as she turned her attention back towards the observation room to look for any of the other crew members.

Kaiross took no time shoving Tamara back behind the destroyed BTR. "It looks like they're not waiting for us. Lets get back to work." Kaiross brought his rifle to bear and fired some shots in attempt to suppress the dummies advance.

As he was firing he yelled to Tamara.

"We can't allow them to pin us Back here! On my mark flank to the right Ill give you cover fire on three!"

Kaiross tried to make every shot count as he was kneeling behind the destroyed BTR.

"One, Two, THREE!!!"

Tamara scrambled to her feet to get into running position. On three she bolted out from behind the BTR. She looked back over her shoulder at the captain reloading as she sprinted across the pit. Keeping her head low she slid behind a large barrel 10 meters to the right of the scrap BTR.
Bringing the front of her rifle to rest ontop of the barrel she took aim at the two targets advancing toward Kaiross. She shot continuously in bursts of three again aiming for the chest area of their metal frames.

The first advancing target fell to Tamara's well placed shot while the second target reacted fast enough to avoid any damage. Her goal was complete however as the targets stopped there advance. Now fully aware of Tamara several targets begin moving in her direction firing shot after shot after shot.

Tamara has downed one target.

Kaiross swiftly ducked as several beams of light flew by his head. He noticed that the enemy fire had lessened and he heard the sound of a FAMAS shooting from Tamara's position. He peaked around the corner and saw one of the enemy dummies go down. Taking this opportunity he sprints to the next bunk of cover and takes out a target that was crossing on open ground.

Glancing over the top of the barrel Tamara sees Kaiross sprint to another place of cover and shoot down the second target that had been advancing on her position. She watched as it colapsed to the ground with a thud. Her vision darted from one end of the compound to the next, and she scanned the terrain for any movement or hint of remaining attackers. Silence followed and she began to slowly lift herself from behind the barrel, her weapon ready at hand for any surprises.

Immediately a target popped up from behind the barrel, no less than two feet from her. The other targets popped up from there own cover several meters away. They were becoming more intelligent. All of them fired simultaneously.

(Just so you know, if you didn't put "had her weapon ready at hand for any surprises" you would have been shot on the spot. What you post matters )

Tamara winced as she pulled the trigger and the FAMAS instanteously shot off rounds at her enemy no more than a couple feet away. Surprised, she stumbled back and dropped behind the barrel as her target fell forward,and lay slumped on ground. Pulling herself into a sitting position she rested against the barrel, and with her pulse racing, she loaded her FAMAS and swung her weapon around the bottom portion of the barrel. Counting three more targets she aimed a line of fire across all three a few meters away. And swung back around to avoid the oncoming fire.

The target directly in front of her fell. But the other targets simply moved out of her line of sight dodging her next shots. They fired at the barrels continuously...pinning her down.

(heres a good test. What would you do if you were pinned down? choose your response carefully, you could die.)

how many are there? (can she even tell?) what kind of weapons are they shooting at her with? (would she be able to know this either?) are they all positioned in an even spread or clustered in any way? (is she able to know this as well?)

(The looks, weapons, and ballistics of the enemy have been described at the beginning of the thread. If its not there then i probably forgot. Posts can be as vague and as specific as the game master wants. Whatever the case, Its a gamemasters job to play the enemy and give the problems for the players to react. (ie how to dodge a bullet) Kinda like real life. The rest of the detail i leave to the players.

But since your here...)

Several more targets appear from slots in the side walls and begin to converge towards Rasz. Some taking cover while others bum rushing him while firing.

Raszsasal, meanwhile, had had sufficient time to browse, identify, and arm a complete outfit of stealth gear. Now clad in skin tight black spandex, 4 stringed emergency survival belt, an extra layered belts for ammunition, a light, anti-projectile vest, and a cool ninja face mask



"Bring it!!"

Raszsasal rolls along, up behind one of the open weapon lockers and returns fire with two specialized, burst-first pistols

Tamara's expression turns from one of concentration and determination to a bewildered and confused "wth?" when Raszsasal appears in spandex uniform...

"........ O_o "

But is quickly brought back to her current situation when several shots fire just overhead. She ducks lower behind the barrel, exasperated and peeks around the barrel to find alternative cover. Resolved to run back to their original cover at the beginning of the training exercise, she pulls out a grenade like weapon and launches it in the middle of the ring and in the direction of the three targets she had fired at only moments ago.

"Fire in the hole!"

Raszsasal is stunned by the explosion, if you want to call it that. It reminded him more of what the ignition of 40 years worth of elephants dung would look like........if it was done with a death ray. Unfortuantly it smelled as such too. Somthing about the (chemical he assumed) explosion filled half the room with a thick, horrible oder. The surviving targets did not seem to mind the smoke at all, but it did blur their vision. The shooting stopped as both sides tried to relocate their targets.

The ninja mask helped, but not all that much.

Hurriedly, Raszsasal ran over to Tamara, army crawling across the floor

"So" He said as he slide up beside her behind the-quite-big-enough-cover "That was awsome..........you aren't gonna do it again are you?"

Tamara covered her nose with her sleeve as the stench filled the room and peeked around the corner of the BTR, scanning the center of the warehouse for the remaining targets.
She prepares herself for any cover fire Raszsasal might need when she sees him crawling across the complex.

After his question, Tamara gives Raszsasal a curious look and brings out her other grenade, glances back again, shrugs and says jokingly

" I could...."

Thinking again she replaces it quickly back to her belt and shakes her head.
The smell that came from the previous grenade was definitely less than pleasant and unexpected.
Wrinkling her nose at the lingering stench that filled the room she finally asked.

" Seeing as though you know the captain well..... How many more of these targets are we going to have to shoot down before this training excerise is over??"

Infact she began to wonder what happened to the captain.
Cautiously she peeked around the corner of the BTR as the smoke began to clear, her sea green eyes darted from the barrel to other fallen vehicles and peices of scrap metal used for cover in the complex, hoping that she might be able to locate the captain's position.
