The airlock gives a faint whirling sound as Kaiross steps into the Mess Hall. He takes a moment to look around at the chairs stacked upon the tables, and then the wooden cabinets that stored much of the rations and canned food. He noted how the wooden furniture looked so out of place amidst the steel and windowless mess hall.
Sighing, he moved towards a massive walk-in fridge that took up half of the wall. Taking a piece of rolled up parchment from his left pocket and tacked it up to the door of the fridge. Stepping back he places his hands on his waist as he scans the words.
Meghan and Jhake's Smoothie Recipe
1 Banana of faith, sliced
1 kiwi of hope, quartered
3 large strawberries of love, chopped
2 tsp. of freshly squeezed kumquat juice of mystery
1/2 cup milk
3 ice cubes
Serve chilled with vows
Serves 2 for life.
Smiling he turns around and heads out the mess hall. "Next stop...the chapel." Kaiross says as the doors whirl shut behind him.
